AdSense is a good beginning, but to get approval, you should have enough quality content and traffic. Meanwhile, I would advise to focus on building traffic first. Once you are eligible, ads can form a good base for passive income.
Direct ad sales are underrated too. If your blog caters to a specific niche, companies in that space may pay more for ad spots than generic networks. This way, you keep it all and possibly earn higher rates.
